Job summary

M.C. Dean in Tysons, Virginia, is seeking a Design Engineer 1 to join the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) unit. You will contribute to the design, engineering, integration, operation and maintenance of electronic security services for federal, local and commercial customers.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, and familiarity with networking, AutoCAD, and MS Office. The role offers growth, a collaborative environment, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical/engineering discipline.
• 0+ years of progressive engineering experience.
• Experience with electronic security and IT systems desired.

Responsibilities

• Support review of customer requirements and assess design constraints to meet customer needs.
• Plan and participate in ESS and physical security system site surveys during all project phases.
• Assist in creating Engineering Installation Design Packages including diagrams and mounting/wiring details.
• Develop project and device schedules and PVT plans.
• Assist in PITCO processes including system programming and integration testing.
• Perform calculations (power, heat, voltage drop, conduit sizing, bandwidth).
• Support development of sequences of operations and compliance matrices.
