Job summary

Aluma-Form in Memphis, TN is seeking a Design Engineer to lead the design and development of new products for the electric utility market. You will manage engineering activities related to maintaining existing products, from concept through drawing releases.

You will create part and assembly designs, manage prototype development and testing, perform FEA, and write test reports for internal and external use. Collaboration with Field Sales and manufacturing teams is essential.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficient with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks or ProE).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (i.e. casting, molding, machining, forming, extruding, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Develop new product part and assembly designs, drawings and specifications
• Manage prototype development and testing.
• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and calculations
• Write test reports for both internal use and for publication
• Technical support for Field Sales personnel
• Review and analysis of proposed product changes
• Facilitate creation and approval of Engineering drawing changes
