Job summary

Vactor Manufacturing, Inc. in Streator, IL is seeking an engineer to develop layouts and modify existing products for production use. You will use CAD tools to analyze designs for strength, ergonomics, safety and quality, and you will coordinate with suppliers to develop specifications.

The role requires 1–3 years of design experience and a BS degree in engineering (BSME or BSAE). You will work with production, marketing, and engineering teams to implement projects and support cost reduction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• 1–3 years of engineering design experience.
• CAD experience, especially Pro-E, is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate layout development and design modifications for production use.
• Use engineering tools to analyze designs for strength, noise, functionality, ergonomics, safety and quality.
• Communicate with suppliers to develop product specifications.
• Develop project plans with input from engineering, marketing and production.
• Work with cross-functional teams during project implementation.
• Prepare and review engineering change packages with BOM investigations.
• Utilize CAD and office software to company standards.
• Participate in cost reduction processes as needed.
• Evaluate product performance and user satisfaction, potentially traveling to field or trade shows.
• Assist drafters and designers with engineering input.
