Job summary

Dauch Corporation is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Columbus, IN team. This role leads design development, testing and release of new products and product enhancements, handling non-routine problems with technical and business context.

Responsibilities include translating customer requirements into specifications, performing analyses (DFMEA/FEA), coordinating testing, and producing documentation and BOMs for release to production. Collaboration with stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relavent experience.
  • Experienced in 3D CAD software (Solidworks, NX, etc) and GD&T principals.
  • Exposure to forging, casting, metalworking is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and comprehends customer requirements; record risks with the product design.
  • Translate customer requirements into product specifications with customer reps.
  • Compile reports and documentation to track product development and obtain a product number.
  • Validate the design by analyses such as stack-ups, DFMEA, FEA, DFA/Manufacturing studies, and NVH.
  • Participate in technical reviews and prepare presentations for stakeholders.
  • Establish key product characteristics and develop BOM for an approved design.
  • Coordinate testing and validation; gain prototype and part approval.
  • Attain final authorization, documentation, and release to production; support product launches.
  • All other duties as assigned.
