Job summary

Sportech, LLC in Elk River, MN is seeking a design engineer to create cab components and systems from concept through production. You will balance performance, budget and schedule using CAD tools and our PDP processes.

The role emphasizes collaboration with customers, vendors and internal teams to drive cost-effective, quality solutions for diverse markets including powersports and industrial applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
• 0-8 years related design experience; plastics and/or sheet metal preferred.
• Experience designing and bringing new products into mass production.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks and/or Creo).
• GD&T and FMEA; ability to perform dimensional tolerance stacks.
• Familiar with multiple manufacturing methods (CNC, brake press, machining, injection molding, welding).
• Experience managing customer and vendor relationships.
• Able to manage multiple projects and priorities; strong teamwork and communication.

Responsibilities

• Design parts, accessories and cab systems from concept to production.
• Use CAD, File Management and ERP to create design solutions.
• Recommend manufacturing directions to meet performance and cost goals.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities in existing designs.
• Own engineering tasks within PDP and communicate with teams.
• Solicit feedback from customers, suppliers and engineers.
• Address field and production problems and propose solutions.
• Perform related project assignments.
