Job summary

Smart IMS Inc. is seeking highly skilled Design Engineers to support the new automated assembly system projects. Designers will independently execute complex mechanical designs and collaborate with Project Engineers during design reviews.

You will contribute high-quality technical solutions within fast-paced timelines, with emphasis on manufacturability and safety.

Candidates should have extensive hands-on design experience and proficiency in SolidWorks; Windchill is preferred.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on design experience in automated assembly systems.
• Proficient in SolidWorks; Windchill experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in fast-paced projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical design for custom automation equipment using SolidWorks and Windchill.
• Own design from layout to detailed component development.
• Participate in design reviews with Project Engineers; apply feedback.
• Ensure manufacturability, safety, and alignment with requirements.
• Collaborate across mechanical, controls, and systems integration.
