Job summary

White Circle, an AI Safety company, seeks a Design Engineer to translate complex AI safety workflows into intuitive interfaces for engineering and research teams. You’ll bridge design and code by shaping flows in Figma and implementing them in production with React, TypeScript, and our component library.

You’ll own the gap between designed and shipped, ensuring pixels and transitions match intent across the product.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in product design, frontend engineering, or design engineering with shipped code.
• Strong frontend skills: React, TypeScript, modern CSS.
• Experience building and maintaining design systems in code.
• Deep Figma knowledge: Auto Layout, Components, Variants, Prototyping.
• Experience with motion and animation in code.
• Solid grasp of accessibility and responsive design.

Responsibilities

• Design and build product interfaces end to end, from Figma to production‑ready React code.
• Own design system in Figma and code, keeping tokens and components in sync.
• Build and polish UI components with attention to states and performance.
• Prototype interactions and new flows in code to test ideas with real data.
• Craft motion and micro‑interactions for complex workflows.
• Raise the product quality by spotting and fixing UI inconsistencies.
• Work directly with product, engineering, and research with fast iterations.
