Job summary

Forus in New York is seeking a Design Engineer who will own how our product and public surfaces look, feel, and perform, blending design thinking with engineering rigor. You will maintain the design system, build the marketing site and campaign pages, and define AI-native workflows with tools like Cursor and Claude Code to help designers and engineers move faster.

This role offers high autonomy and impact, partnering with product design, engineering, product, and marketing to evolve the system

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience spanning design and front-end engineering.
• Strong React/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and WebGL with a focus on elegant code.
• Experience building or evolving a design system or component library.
• A strong eye for visual and interaction design and a portfolio.
• Comfort building on a CMS (Sanity preferred) and running web experiments.

Responsibilities

• Own our design system, including components, patterns, and standards for product and web surfaces.
• Build our public web presence from the marketing site to campaign pages with the same rigor as in-product surfaces.
• Define and share AI-native workflows, documenting prompts and patterns for designer and engineer use.
• Run web experiments and instrument surfaces to ground design decisions in measurable outcomes.
• Partner across product design, engineering, product, and marketing to evolve the system.
