Job summary
Cullerton Group in Mossville, IL seeks a Design Engineer 2 for a 12-month, 100% onsite role. You will support development, integration, testing, and validation of retrofit and aftermarket tech for heavy equipment, combining electrical, mechanical, software regression, and hardware integration work.
You will build test setups, validate camera/detection systems, and troubleshoot hardware/software issues, with responsibilities spanning lab testing to field demonstrations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required.
- 2–4 years of relevant engineering experience or internship accepted.
- Hands-on electrical and mechanical assembly plus hardware integration.
- Software regression testing experience and test documentation.
- Experience with camera/detection tech and SDLC knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Assemble wiring harnesses and perform hardware integration on projects.
- Develop and execute software regression tests for system performance.
- Create test plans, document results, identify defects, and troubleshoot.
- Operate lab equipment and HIL benches for electrical testing.
- Support camera/detection tech development and validation.
- Assemble demo kits and prototype systems for retrofit/aftermarket apps.
- Conduct on-machine testing at proving grounds and field sites.
- Collaborate with engineers to resolve hardware/software issues.
