Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join our team for a variety of commercial projects, including high-rise, healthcare and entertainment facilities. This hybrid role supports design from concept through construction and involves collaboration with architects, other engineers and clients across the US.

The ideal candidate holds an ABET-accredited degree with 2–6+ years of experience and Revit BIM proficiency; familiarity with ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA or Enercalc is

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited structural/civil engineering degree.
• 2–6+ years of structural design experience in AEC or related firms.
• Proficient in Revit; working knowledge of ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA and Enercalc.
• EIT or PE license preferred (not required).
• Experience with concrete, masonry, steel and wood design; gravity and lateral systems.
• Knowledge of construction costs and managing moderate-to-large projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural solutions from concept through construction.
• Lead and delegate system layouts, calculations and engineering reports.
• Produce construction documents using Revit.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs and participate in project meetings.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and clients in integrated design.
• Adapt to varying building codes and US project requirements.
• Mentor entry-level staff.

Salary: $78,000 - $115,000 per year

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, ABET Accredited
• 2-6 + years of Structure Engineering Design experience with Engineering Consulting Firm, Design/Build Firm, or AEC Industry.
• Revit Software Proficiency Required; (working knowledge of ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc)
• EIT or PE License Preferred (Not Required)
• Buildings Structural Engineering experience, including the Design of Concrete, Masonry, Steel, Wood Materials; Gravity & Lateral Systems.
• Knowledge of construction costs
• Experience managing moderate to complex projects and / or functioning as the secondary point of contact on larger projects
• Ability to schedule and manage tasks for the structural discipline
• Demonstrated success in technical / formal communication with clients and staff
• Proven ability to represent the structural discipline at meeting
• Experience with BIM including Autodesk Revit workflow.
• Goal oriented with strong skills in problem solving, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of commercial building materials, systems, and assemblies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with directing and coordinating project activities of junior staff.

Duties

• Developing structural solutions from concept through construction.

• Assist contractors by reviewing shop drawings, RFIs and participating in O/A/C meetings.
• Collaboration with architects, other engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design process.
• Adapt to variations in building codes and construction practices while working on projects around the US.
• Mentoring entry-level staff.
