Butler America Aerospace, LLC is seeking a Design Engineer in Grand Prairie, TX to design major components and improve products, while coordinating with related teams and ensuring manufacturability. The role emphasizes creating and validating 3D models, layouts, and GD&T-compliant drawings.

The candidate should have extensive Creo experience, Windchill PLM proficiency, and strong capability in mechanical/electrical concepts and design reviews. A 12-month engagement is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Creo design.
• 2+ years with Windchill PLM/PDM.
• Mechanical primary and secondary structures experience.
• At least 1 year of concept development experience.
• At least 1 year of design review content preparation experience.
• 4+ years of experience creating finished 3D models.
• 2+ years of GD&T experience.
• 2+ years of experience with complex mechanical/electrical concepts.

Summary

• Designs major components, or major portions of a functional system, or technically advanced prototype, promotional or specific products.
• Develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
• Develops basic data and makes preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal. Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replace ability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost.
• Coordinates with other organizations affected by design development.
• Makes layouts of assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, structures, and products.
• Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.
• Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.

Required Experience:

• Candidate must have at least 3 years experience with Creo design.
• Candidate must have at least 2 years experience with Windchill PLM/PDM
• Mechanical primary and secondary structures
• At least 1 year of experience with Concept development
• At least 1 year of experience with Design review content preparation
• Candidate must have at least 4 years experience with Create Finished 3D Models
• Candidate must have at least 2 years experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Candidate must have at least 2 years experience with Complex Mechanical/Electrical Concepts
