Butler America Aerospace is seeking a Design Engineer for a 12-month contract in Grand Prarie, TX. The role focuses on designing major components and executing prototypes, with a rate of $55–70 per hour on a W2 basis.

Responsibilities include developing and refining products, coordinating with cross-functional teams, producing layouts, and ensuring drawings meet standards. Requirements include interim secret clearance, Creo design (3+ years), Windchill PLM/PDM (2+ years), GD&T, and strong 3D

Qualifications

• Interim Secret Clearance.
• 3+ years experience with Creo design.
• 2+ years experience with Windchill PLM/PDM.
• Mechanical primary and secondary structures.
• 1+ year of Concept development.
• 1+ year of Design review content preparation.
• 4+ years experience with Create Finished 3D Models.
• 2+ years experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• 2+ years experience with Complex Mechanical/Electrical Concepts.

Title: Design Engineer

Location: Grand Prarie, TX

Duration: 12 months possibly longer

Rate: $55-70/hr W2 (based on education & experience)

** Responsibilities**

• Designs major components, or major portions of a functional system, or technically advanced prototype, promotional or specific products.
• Develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
• Develops basic data and makes preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal. Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replace ability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost.
• Coordinates with other organizations affected by design development.
• Makes layouts of assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, structures, and products.
• Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.
• Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers

** Required Experience:**

• ** Interim Secret Clearance**
• Candidate must have at least 3 years experience with Creo design.
• Candidate must have at least 2 years experience with Windchill PLM/PDM
• Mechanical primary and secondary structures
• At least 1 year of experience with Concept development
• At least 1 year of experience with Design review content preparation
• Candidate must have at least 4 years experience with Create Finished 3D Models
• Candidate must have at least 2 years experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Candidate must have at least 2 years experience with Complex Mechanical/Electrical Concepts
