Job summary

Chicago Coding Systems (CCS) seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer/ Drafter to design and draft assignments, support PM and customers, and create accurate drawings and 3D models using CAD software.

You'll collaborate with designers, drafters, and engineers to ensure designs meet scope, budget, and schedule, and you will prepare engineering documents for customer submittals and project concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline; 0–3 years experience.
• Current engineering student pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Some experience in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, Fusion, etc.)
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills
• Has intermediate knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude

Responsibilities

• Handle designing and drafting assignments.
• Provide support to Project Management and Customers as assigned.
• Completes project tasks under some direction from manager.
• Designs new products and systems and makes improvements to existing products and systems.
• Proactively collaborates with other Designers, Drafters, and Engineers to ensure a complete design.
• Completes project designs within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Ensures design drawings and revisions are complete and accurate and up to date.
• Creates accurate and complete drawings and models from written data and verbal specifications.
• Proactively provides timely technical assistance.
• Prepare engineering documents for customer submittal.
• Actively collaborates with sales and technicians to develop concepts for projects.
