Job summary

HS Inc. Automation in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of medium to large machines using SolidWorks, develop BOMs, and ensure manufacturability.

You will collaborate with design managers and engineers, produce working drawings, and mentor junior engineers while adhering to safety and industry standards. The role requires at least a high school diploma, with preferred bachelor’s in ME/Mechatronics, and strong CAD skills.

• Complete simulations and risk assessments as assigned.
• Provide designs that are manufacturable, accurate, meet project scope, and will work with departments in the plant to ensure information is conveyed correctly and is error free.

• Utilize technical manuals to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable standards and codes.
• May perform other duties as assigned or required.

Physical Requirements
