Akkodis is seeking a Design Engineer L2 for a Contract job with a client in Raymond, OH. Ideally, we are looking for applicants with a solid background and in-depth knowledge of CATIA V6 And Chassis Design

Rate Range

$43/hour to $47/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Description

• Requires a BS or MS in engineering. All the skills and abilities of Engineer L1. Additionally, must be proficient in technical writing and possess computer skills for scientific and technical applications.
• Must be able to handle multiple projects and develop analytical procedures proficiently. Work with suppliers to ensure parts/services are requested appropriately, evaluate technical proposals, and write technical reports.
• Make technical decisions with moderate supervision. Ability to report research and test results in various technical formats.
• Able to work with a team or on an individual basis to reach project goals. Valid Ohio driver's license required
• Design and develop automotive chassis components, including suspension/steering, subframes, engine mounts, wheels, brakes, fuel/exhaust, and related components
• Develop robust 3D designs using CATIA V6
• Create and interpret 2D engineering drawings
• Apply working knowledge of GD&T and design-for-manufacturability principles
• Collaborate with design engineers, test engineers, and suppliers to analyze and resolve technical issues
• Evaluate technical proposals and communicate engineering recommendations
• Interpret basic CAE results, including stiffness and natural-frequency analysis
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while supporting established development schedules
• Prepare technical documentation and communicate research and test results

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of related engineering/design experience
• Automotive component design and development experience
• Strong solid modeling capability
• Understanding of design intent and robust modeling practices
• Ability to create and interpret 2D engineering drawings
• Working knowledge of GD&T
• Strong understanding of design for manufacturability
• Ability to independently analyze technical problems and work collaboratively with engineering teams and suppliers
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
