Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Design Engineer for a direct-hire position in Auburn Hills, MI. The role requires 1–3+ years of SolidWorks experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD. Hot runner or tooling experience is preferred but not required.

You will break down customer specifications into 3D models, create drawings with BOMs, and lead design checks while collaborating with Application Engineering and other designers.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of SolidWorks experience.
• Experience with plastics is highly preferred but not required.
• Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Responsibilities

Akkodis is seeking a Design Engineer for a direct-hire position with a client in Auburn Hills, MI. Candidates must have 1–3 or more years of SolidWorks experience. Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2000 or later is a plus. Hot runner or tooling experience is preferred but not required.

Salary Range: $35.00/hour to $38.00/hour; The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Break down information obtained from customer specifications, customer drawings, sketches and instructions furnished by Application Engineering into detailed 3D models, drawings with section views, dimensions and bill of material. Assist other designers and detailers.
• Design new and complex drawings.
• Plan and make layouts while exercising independent judgement regarding design issues.
• Solid modeling of components and assemblies.
• Lead and check the work of others.

Desired Qualifications

• Technical degree preferred in Engineering or Design.
• 1-3 years of experience with SolidWorks is a must.
• Experience with plastics is highly preferred but not required.
