Job summary

VERSA Products Company Inc. is a leading manufacturer of pneumatic directional control valves and valve automation solutions.

We seek a hands-on Design Engineer in Paramus, NJ to design and develop new products while improving existing lines, combining engineering design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support. The role requires 2+ years in manufacturing, SolidWorks proficiency, and the ability to create 3D models and engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or related field.
• At least two years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• SolidWorks experience including part design and assembly creation.
• Ability to create 3D models and drawings, and interpret engineering documents.
• Experience with hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and drills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, test, and obtain safety approvals for electromagnetic and mechanical assemblies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for existing products.
• Manage engineering projects, coordinate activities, track progress, and document outcomes.
• Create and review engineering documents, 3D models, assemblies, and drawings.
• Collaborate with Assembly to troubleshoot production issues.
• Use simulation tools to evaluate designs and support development.
• Build prototypes, test, analyze results, and document findings.
• Support ISO documentation, FMEA, SWOT, and related records.

PositionSummary

This position is ideal for a hands on Design Engineer to help design and develop new products while improving the performance, quality, and manufacturability of our existing product line. This position combines engineering design, project management, prototype development, and testing with technical support for manufacturing.

Summary of essential job functions:

• Participate in the design, analysis, testing, and safety agency approval of electromagnetic and mechanical assemblies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for existing products.
• Manage assigned engineering projects, coordinating activities, tracking progress, and maintaining project documentation.
• Create, review, and check engineering documents, including 3D models, assemblies, detailed 2D drawings, laboratory reports, and technical specifications.
• Work with the Assembly Department to troubleshoot and resolve technical production issues.
• Use engineering simulation software to evaluate designs and support product development.
• Build prototype assemblies, conduct tests, analyze results, and document findings.
• Support ISO-related documentation and quality activities, including failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis, and related records.
• Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology.
• At least two years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least two years of hands-on SolidWorks experience, including part design and assembly creation.
• Ability to create 3D models and assemblies and prepare and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using hand tools, including screwdrivers, wrenches, and drills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred

• Experience with pneumatic products, hydraulic, or fluid control systems.
• Understanding of engineering principles related to pressure and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools.
• Familiarity with engineering document management systems.
• Understanding statistical analysis and its application to engineering and testing.
