Job summary

Morton Industries, LLC in Morton, IL seeks a Tool Designer to plan, design, and integrate tooling, fixtures, dies, and related equipment across manufacturing processes.

You will partner with Engineering, Tooling, Maintenance, Quality, and Operations to improve product quality, reduce costs, and support continuous improvement initiatives. A Bachelor’s in Engineering or Design and 3+ years in a manufacturing environment are required; Syteline ERP experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Design required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Design tooling, jigs, fixtures, dies, and support equipment to meet requirements.
  • Develop drawings, prints, specifications, and fabrication documentation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Operations to improve manufacturability and process capability.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance on new equipment installations and modifications.
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

POSITION SUMMARYThe Tool Designer plans, designs, and integrates tooling, fixtures, dies, and related equipment used throughout Morton Industries’ manufacturing processes.
