Job summary

Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design seeks an Associate Director to lead the Early Design Education programs and coordinate undergraduate design studies. The role guides Design Discovery and DDY programs, supervises teaching fellows, and aligns curriculum with the school’s goals, blending virtual and in-person formats.

Based in Cambridge, MA, the position is hybrid with on-site requirements during sessions, and involves collaboration with college offices, faculty, and external partners

Qualifications

• Leadership and managerial experience required.
• 3 years' experience as a practitioner within architecture, landscape architecture or urban planning and design.
• Video editing and/or film production experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise Architecture Studies track on course selection and curricular requirements.
• Oversee independent research courses and thesis evaluations.
• Coordinate with program coordinators and Harvard College offices.
• Supervise Teaching Fellows and program teaching teams.
• Develop and implement marketing and recruitment materials for programs.
• Assist with selecting student instructors for design disciplines.
