Job summary

Gilbane Building seeks a Design Manager - Advanced Delivery to lead the integration of design and construction teams for coordinated, constructible, and cost-effective designs. This role supports advanced delivery models (Design-Build, IPD, P3, EPC), ensuring design intent, risk management, and project readiness for execution.

You will build high-performing teams, mentor staff, manage design scope, budgets, and schedules, and collaborate with VDC and estimating to align design with project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 10+ years’ experience in design/project management for large-scale construction.
• Proven experience with advanced delivery models (Design-Build, IPD, P3, EPC).

Responsibilities

• Lead integration of design and construction teams to ensure constructible designs.
• Define technical scope, manage RFIs, and bridge documents.
• Develop and maintain design deliverable schedules aligned with procurement and build phases.
• Oversee design progression to meet budget and schedule targets.
• Coordinate with VDC team to align digital modeling and constructability reviews.
• Promote design-build mindset and manage design team invoices.
