Job summary

The Crowd is seeking a Design Coordinator to join our New York team in a full-time, hybrid role, supporting projects from early design development through procurement, installation, and closeout.

As a key liaison between design, procurement, and accounting, you will assist with sourcing, specifications, purchasing documentation, order tracking, and project logistics in a fast-moving studio environment. A Bachelor’s degree and 2–4 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related discipline is required.
  • 2–4 years of experience in interior design, FF&E procurement, or design coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of furniture, materials, finishes, specifications, purchasing processes, and installation logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design team with sourcing, material and furniture research, presentations, specifications, schedules, and other project documentation
  • Coordinate across design, procurement, accounting, and PM teams to maintain budgets, approvals, and timelines
  • Obtain vendor quotes, samples, product details, and lead times; assist with proposals and purchasing documentation
  • Track FF&E orders and milestones through delivery and installation; help resolve shipping or specification issues
  • Assist with client and project coordination, including status updates, site visits, and closeout

Job description

The Crowd is excited to be partnering with a sought after and internationally recognized interior design studio known for creating sophisticated, highly considered spaces across luxury residential and hospitality projects. The studio is seeking a Design Coordinator to join its New York team in a full-time, hybrid position, supporting projects from early design development through procurement, installation, and closeout.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organized and design-minded professional who enjoys working across multiple areas of a project. Acting as a key coordinator between the design, procurement, and accounting teams, the successful candidate will assist with sourcing, specifications, presentations, purchasing documentation, order tracking, and project logistics. The ideal person will be proactive, detail-oriented, and confident communicating with vendors, consultants, contractors, and clients in a fast-moving studio environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the design team with sourcing, material and furniture research, presentations, specifications, schedules, and other project documentation
  • Coordinate across the design, procurement, accounting, and project management teams to maintain accurate project information, budgets, approvals, and timelines
  • Obtain vendor quotes, samples, product details, and lead times while assisting with proposals, purchasing documentation, and pricing discussions
  • Track FF&E orders and project milestones through delivery and installation, helping resolve shipping, quality, or specification-related issues
  • Assist with client and project coordination, including status updates, meeting documentation, site visits, installation scheduling, punch lists, and project closeout
Key Skills/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline
  • 2-4 years of experience within interior design, FF&E procurement, or design-focused project coordination
  • Strong knowledge of furniture, materials, finishes, specifications, purchasing processes, and installation logistics
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Excel; experience with Revit, SketchUp, Studio Designer, or Google Workspace is advantageous
  • Highly organized and communicative, with the ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external project partners
