Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an entry-level Interior Design Assistant to support the development of interior selection packages for model homes and spaces in Houston. You will assist with flooring, cabinetry, countertops, tile, lighting, plumbing, and color palettes, while coordinating with teams to ensure design intent is realized.

The role requires a design degree and strong communication, with experience in AutoCAD, Chief Architect, or Bluebeam considered a plus.

Qualifications

• College degree in Interior Design or another design-related field required
• 0-1 years of experience in a related field preferred
• Experience with space planning software (AutoCAD, Chief Architect, Bluebeam or similar)
• Experience in Bluebeam is a plus
• Ability to create a cohesive interior design concept and carry it from concept to presentation
• Strong understanding of foundational design elements
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable presenting design concepts, offering informed feedback, and participating in cross functional team meetings

Responsibilities

• Research and coordinate resolution of selection-related issues
• Create design presentations and supporting documentation for internal teams
• Manage and maintain the Model Home Selections Intake process
• Improve selection packages, templates, and reference materials
• Organize and maintain project schedules, records, and design documentation
• Support model home installations and travel as needed to ensure execution aligns with approved design intent
