Ethan Allen Interiors Inc. in The Villages, FL is seeking an Associate Design Consultant as an entry-level role that transitions into a Design Consultant within about six months, during a training period.

The position focuses on learning the technology used by consultants and Ethan Allen product lines while supporting sales activity at the Design Center. During training you’ll work with Design Consultants to develop selling and interior design skills, with management determining whether to

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Interior Design or related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Previous internship or experience with a professional design firm or design-retail organization. Minimum two (2) years’ experience in retail sales preferred.
• Other Requirements: Strong sales & organizational skills. Ability to work with others. Positive attitude, stylish professional appearance, and high energy with a desire to learn the business. Position requires a valid driver’s license, except in limited circumstances in which the associate can establish to the Company’s satisfaction that they have available for use during all business hours an alternate means of transportation not requiring the operation of a motor vehicle which will enable them to perform the duties of their position.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays listed on the incentive plan.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and establish rapport; assist with limited design consultation and sales transactions.
• Assist Design Consultants with project development and space planning.
• Educate customers about the complimentary design service and stay current on design trends.
• Enter orders and quotes using the POS system; communicate status via telephone & email.
• Provide exceptional service before and after sale by keeping customers informed of order status.
