Design Within Reach in Chicago is seeking a Design Specialist to blend design sensibility with consultative selling, representing iconic designers and brands, building lasting client relationships, reporting to the General Manager.

Responsibilities include delivering personalized design consultations, guiding product selection, managing client lifecycle with CRM, meeting KPIs, and maintaining store aesthetics. The role offers an hourly base with uncapped commissions and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail sales or design consulting.
• Background in interior design, architecture, or related field preferred.
• Ability to build lasting client relationships and understand design needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized design consultations to meet client needs.
• Guide clients through product selection, space planning, and styling.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, trade professionals, and local design community.
• Meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs (revenue, conversion, client retention).
• Maintain store visuals and stay current on product knowledge and trends.
