Job Title: Design Center Manager

Overview

The Design Center Manager is primarily responsible for managing, developing, training, and motivating the design team. This role involves maintaining high customer contact and achieving sales goals. The manager actively coaches team members to enhance professionalism and develop business plans to expand market reach and revenue. Partnering with each associate, the manager oversees design projects, customer relationships, sales volume, and overall customer satisfaction, holding the team accountable for meeting goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the overall operations of the design center.
  • Implement Ethan Allen’s Leadership Principles, including change initiatives and relationship building. Hold the team accountable through coaching to meet or exceed sales benchmarks.
  • Drive new business through grassroots marketing, partnerships, social media, blogs, and digital channels.
  • Develop written business plans and review financial statements monthly with leadership.
  • Participate in community programs to increase brand exposure.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and ensure policy compliance.
  • Guide key personnel to ensure sales growth, financial integrity, and asset protection.
  • Implement and monitor adherence to company policies.
  • Provide training and participate in corporate training sessions.
  • Set monthly and quarterly goals with design staff.
  • Contribute ideas for policy improvements and business growth strategies.
  • Ensure inventory reconciliation and propose innovative growth strategies.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience or a High School diploma with 10+ years of progressive interior design and sales experience. Supervisory experience required.

Other Requirements: Entrepreneurial mindset, strong communication and organizational skills, leadership ability, knowledge of interior design, and sales techniques. Must be able to work holidays, evenings, and weekends. Valid driver’s license required, or alternative transportation arrangements.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting salary ranges from $80k - $100k, plus monthly incentive based on sales. Benefits include 401(k), health plans, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, flexible spending accounts, commuter benefits, voluntary insurances, and employee assistance programs.
