Job summary

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) seeks Project Development Specialists - West Team to support the Design-build process for the Blue Springs to Columbia, MO corridor, reporting to the Project Director and Deputy Director. This is a career-ladder opportunity with potential for advancement without competitive selection.

Responsibilities include drafting design-build contracts, evaluating proposals, attending contractor meetings, auditing plans, and managing project documentation

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Certification to operate nuclear gauges may be required.
• Substitution of experience for education may be allowed.

• Review and score Statements of Qualifications and Proposals from design-build contractors.
• Attend one-on-one meetings with shortlisted design-build contractors.
• Serve as technical expert on the project.
• Audit design plans, specifications, and special provisions.
• Prepare required project documentation and check contractor progress.
• Complete audits based on Inspection and Testing Plan to verify QC.
• Review contractor schedules and monitor progress.
• Review and payment of contractor invoices.
• Negotiate and process change orders.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited college or university curriculum)

This position may be filled at one of the three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, with the Intermediate starting salary of $72,691.68, and a Senior starting salary of $78,506.88.

Minimum Qualifications

• Capable of, or willingness to quickly learn howto,develop Design-Build documents including an RFP, review highway/bridge plans, score contractor proposals and inspect a design-build project.
