Neatly & Co seeks a Design Build Assistant to join the team and support design development, project coordination, and execution. You will work directly with clients, gather critical information, manage documentation, and ensure projects stay organized and on track.
You will take measurements, prepare design decks, and maintain project files while coordinating with the Design Build Manager to keep timelines on schedule and deliverables polished.
Neatly & Co. is a home-planning and design firm founded on the belief that how a household lives should drive how a home is built and organized. The team partners with architects and designers early in the planning process, studying daily routines, entertaining needs, travel, and family rhythms to shape thoughtful, functional spaces. Projects range from full-home planning to move-in readiness and single-room transformations, all guided by a consistent method: understand how the household truly operates, then build systems around it. Drawing inspiration from hospitality, Neatly & Co. focuses on anticipating needs so that well-planned homes feel intuitive and effortless for the people who live in them.
As Design Build Assistant, you are a key member of the design build team, supporting design development, project coordination, and execution. You work directly with clients, gather critical information, manage documentation, and ensure projects stay organized and on track.
You are organized, detail-oriented, and genuinely interested in helping clients envision and create beautiful homes. You have strong written and verbal communication skills and are comfortable interacting with clients. You are a problem-solver who can think through timelines and coordinate multiple moving pieces. You take pride in creating polished, professional deliverables. You ask clarifying questions and don't assume you understand without checking. You are adaptable and can move seamlessly between different tasks, from taking measurements one moment to formatting a design deck the next. You have a can-do attitude and see obstacles as puzzles to solve. You understand that design support work is foundational to project success, and you take responsibility for the quality of your output. You genuinely want clients to feel excited about their home transformation. You thrive in a collaborative environment, support the team, and contribute to a positive, professional culture.
This is an hourly position based in Houston. Projects are typically scheduled three to four days per week, though hours vary based on project workload and client needs. Most work hours are billable to client projects. Hourly rates are competitive and based on experience. Schedule flexibility is required. You will support transformative home design projects and be part of building Neatly.
