Job summary

Reframe Systems is hiring a Design Automation Engineer to build CAD automation for faster, more detailed building design. You’ll write Onshape features (FeatureScript) and integrate tooling via APIs, ensuring reliable production workloads while reducing manual workload for design engineers.

You’ll work between architecture, software, and manufacturing to advance a CAD‑to‑fabrication workflow from design through the factory floor, leveraging modern AI tooling to prototype quickly.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical, civil, electrical engineering, or computer science required.
• 2+ years hands-on experience with parametric design tools (Onshape, Fusion, SolidWorks).
• Experience building custom features in Onshape with FeatureScript.
• General coding experience, ideally in Go, Python, or C#.
• Experience using coding agents to prototype and collaborate toward a solution.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom Onshape features for production use.
• Augment Onshape workflows by building tooling and API integrations.
• Expand MCP capabilities built on top of Onshape APIs.
• Partner with design engineers to deliver end-to-end features that add value.
• Create automation that enforces MEP constraints and aids placement of devices/fixtures.
• Develop automated code-compliance checks (outlet placement, egress, tempered windows).
• Collaborate across disciplines to raise efficiency from design to manufacturing.
