Job Title: Design Assistant – Knits

Division/Department: Merchandising / Design

Immediate Supervisor: Senior Design Director

Position Summary

The Design Assistant – Knits will support the Design and Merchandising teams in all aspects of line development for knitwear. This role will assist with sketching, rendering, sample organization, and documentation required to bring new products to market. The position plays a key role in helping the team deliver collections on time and aligned with brand standards and market needs.

Primary/Essential Job Functions

• Sketch and color new styles and develop Mac Pacs for production handoff.
• Fit and render knit styles using 3D Browzwear software to support catalogs and sales materials.
• Maintain organization of sample closets and racks.
• Update knit Mac Pacs and PLM style entries throughout the development lifecycle.
• Compile and present category boards post-season to analyze sales performance and business growth opportunities.
• Steam samples as needed to support design presentations and fittings.
• Assist Sales in maintaining showroom presentation and organization.
• Partner with Marketing to help create compelling product marketing content.
• Support any new Digital Tech Suite (DTS) inquiries or initiatives as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of relevant internship or entry-level experience in apparel design
  
  

Skills & Abilities

• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and PLM systems.
• Working knowledge of Browzwear (3D design software) strongly preferred.
• Strong sketching and color rendering ability.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
