Job summary

At Home in Coppell, TX is seeking a Design Assistant to support the Design team in interpreting brand concepts into compelling merchandise. Reports to the Design Director as a member of the Brand Concept and Design Team.

The role is hybrid with onsite on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and remote Mondays and Fridays, requiring collaboration, scheduling, and strong color/pattern sensibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1+ years of Product Design/Development or Trend experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Adobe Creative Suite experience (Photoshop, Illustrator) highly desirable.
• Excellent eye for color, pattern, design details and craftsmanship.
• Presentation skills – verbal, written and visuals.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with peers and team.
• Quick learner adaptable to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assists Design Managers, Associate Managers and Director with product directives.
• Partner with Brand Concept Team to execute Concept vision (color, silhouette, materiality, print & pattern).
• Assists team in scheduling meetings, note taking and follow-up activities.
• Identify product opportunities informed by Concept Team, market research and consumer insight.
• Assist Associate Design Manager with maintaining libraries, templates, folders and best practices.
• Cultivate category and industry expertise.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
