Job summary

ZCS is seeking a Designer to translate knowledge of professional design and strategic thinking into project designs and construction documents for a range of projects. The role emphasizes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clear communication with stakeholders.

You will contribute to preparing design documents, ensuring code compliance, and supporting construction activities while partnering with owners and consultants to deliver successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering from an accredited program.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills in a deadline driven arena.
• Clear and concise oral and written communication skills.
• Strong proven technical skills.
• Ability to travel (occasionally) as we support projects throughout the state.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop project designs and construction documents for single and multi‑discipline projects.
• Generate project design and construction documents with oversight from senior staff for projects ranging from private residences to campuses and retrofits.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure project compliance with applicable regulations.
• Assist on projects during construction through review of RFIs, submittals, and site observations.
• Collaborate with project partners (in‑house disciplines, owners, architects, sub‑consultants, etc.).
