Job summary

ZCS is seeking a Designer to develop architectural and engineering project designs and construction documents for diverse sites, from private residences to K-12 campuses and seismic retrofits.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, apply codes and standards, review RFIs and submittals, oversee on-site construction observations, and communicate clearly with owners and partners to deliver high‑quality projects on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering from an accredited program.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills in a deadline driven arena.
• Clear and concise oral and written communication skills.
• Strong proven technical skills.
• Ability to travel (occasionally) as we support projects throughout the state.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Utilize experience and knowledge from coursework in the design of architectural/engineering projects.
• Generate project design and construction documents with oversight from senior staff for projects ranging from private residences to K‑12 campuses and seismic retrofits of existing buildings to commercial developments.
• Utilize the applicable codes, regulations, and laws to preform code reviews and ensure project compliance.
• Assist on projects during construction through review and processing of RFI's, material submittals, and periodic on‑site construction observation.
• Collaborate with project partners (in‑house disciplines, owners, architects, sub‑consultants, etc.).
