Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is seeking an Architect/Designer to work onsite at the Springfield, MO corporate office, partnering with the Design and Development teams to create innovative store designs, resorts, and specialty projects that elevate the customer experience.

Develop conceptual drawings, translate ideas into detailed production drawings, and collaborate with the in-house fabrication shop to craft lighting, railings, fixtures, and furniture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture required.
• Minimum 2 years of design experience in an architectural firm.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Lumion, Photoshop, SketchUp, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual drawings and sketches to communicate design ideas.
• Translate concepts into detailed architectural drawings for production and execution.
• Revise drawings based on feedback from ownership and project leadership.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Architect/Designer will work onsite at our corporate office in Springfield, MO. and collaborate with the Design and Development department at Bass Pro Shops to create innovative store designs, resorts, and various specialty projects. The role emphasizes enhancing the customer experience through authentic detailing, craftsmanship, and immersive environments that reflect the heritage and values of Bass Pro Shops.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develop conceptual drawings and sketches to communicate design ideas effectively, both independently and as part of a team. Translate concepts into detailed architectural drawings that clearly convey design intent for production and execution. Revise and refine drawings based on feedback from ownership and project leadership. Collaborate with the in-house fabrication shop to design custom elements such as lighting, railings, gates, fixtures, and furniture. Review and verify construction documents for accuracy, quality, and adherence to design standards. Ensure all design work aligns with Bass Pro Shops brand identity and commitment to creating meaningful customer experiences.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree in Architecture Years of experience: Minimum of 2 years design experience in an architectural firm.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

Strong ability to sketch and hand-draw concepts to communicate ideas quickly and effectively. Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, Lumion, Photoshop, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with peers, leadership, and external partners. Ability to balance creative vision with practical execution and detail orientation. Capacity to innovate and think beyond traditional solutions while maintaining authenticity in design. Ability to evaluate, interpret, and produce architectural drawings that are both functional and inspiring. Detail-oriented with the ability to check documents for accuracy and consistency with project goals. Willingness to work extended hours when project deadlines require.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly sits, and do computer work. Occasionally walks and stands. Seldom/Never lifts up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
