Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, MO, is seeking a CNC Programmer Machinist to collaborate with design, engineering, and project teams to create molds and tooling patterns from 3D CAD models. You will program toolpaths, operate LSAM printers and routers, and design fixtures to ensure production readiness.
The role requires 3–5 years CNC programming/machining experience or an appropriate degree, with proficiency in CATIA/3DExperience and Mastercam, plus familiarity with fiberglass molding methods
The CNC Programmer Machinist will work with new product development designers, engineers, and project/product managers to create molds and tooling patterns from 3D CAD models.
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred Degree: Associate Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Design/Drafting, CNC Programming, or other Mechanical or Technology Field.
Years of experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in CNC Programming/Machining in lieu of degree
Ability to construct tooling patterns from tooling foam and construction lumber (plywood and framing lumber)
Familiarity with 3-D printing processes
Familiarity with Large Scale Additive Manufacturing processes is a plus
Knowledge of closed mold fiberglass manufacturing methods
Familiarity with G&M Codes and Mastercam Computer literate, familiar with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office
Experience with 3D CAD programs (CATIA, 3DExperience, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.), preferred
Ability to work in a team and maintain a positive attitude
Some travel is required to Manufacturing locations as needed for projects.
Regularly walks, sits, stands and does computer work. Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.
Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
