Job summary

State and Liberty Clothing Co. is seeking a highly organized Design & Production Assistant to support day-to-day production and creative needs. You’ll work with the head of brand design and the broader team on photo shoot prep, product organization, Shopify updates, and asset management.

This role offers hands-on experience across design, photography, e-commerce, and AI tools, with in-person work at our Ann Arbor HQ and potential for growth as the team expands.

Qualifications

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of juggling multiple tasks.
  • Excited to use and explore AI and new technology; prior experience is a plus but not required.
  • Hands-on and willing to jump into whatever needs to be done.
  • Reliable and consistently available, with the ability to work fully in-person.
  • Self-motivated and able to take ownership of tasks and see them through.
  • Curious and eager to learn new tools, systems, and processes.
  • Strong communication and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Interest in design, photography, e-commerce, fashion, or creative production is a plus.
  • Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Shopify or photography experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize product for upcoming photo shoots using established product lists and outfitting plans.
  • Assist with product organization, styling, pinning, and general production on shoot days.
  • Help manage product before, during, and after photo shoots.
  • Assist with Shopify product and site updates.
  • Maintain and organize creative files, product assets, and other design resources.
  • Follow and help improve existing creative and production processes.
  • Explore and test AI tools and other technology to improve team workflows.
  • Support the design team across day-to-day creative and production needs.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and projects as the role develops.

Job description

We're looking for a highly organized, hands-on Design & Production Assistant to support the day-to-day production and operational needs of our design team. This role will help keep product, photography, creative assets, and ongoing projects organized and moving efficiently.

You'll work closely with our head of brand design and broader creative team, supporting photo shoot preparation, product organization, Shopify updates, and other creative production needs. The role is designed for someone who is curious, organized, dependable, and excited to learn new tools and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and organize product for upcoming photo shoots using established product lists and outfitting plans
  • Assist with product organization, styling, pinning, and general production on shoot days
  • Help manage product before, during, and after photo shoots
  • Assist with Shopify product and site updates

Location & Schedule
