Job summary

The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum seeks an Education Specialist to inspire learners with hands-on conservation programs, from school groups to camps and family events. In this full-time role, you’ll teach across grades, develop materials, and engage audiences through diverse interpretive activities.

You will coordinate field trips, camps, and community programs, collaborating with educators, interns, and volunteers while working some weekends and evenings as part of an equitable schedule.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in biological, earth or environmental sciences or closely related field.
• Three years teaching experience in informal, formal, or mixed environments.
• Experience with curriculum development and Arizona State Science Standards.

Responsibilities

• Teaches natural history, ecology, and conservation programs onsite, offsite, and virtually for K-12 through college.
• Develops educational materials and coordinates educational field and travel programs.
• Assists in training Educators and interns and contributes to education initiatives.
• Plans and leads annual programs and collaborates with community organizations.
