Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy seeks a Civil/Mechanical Equipment Operator to safely operate heavy equipment on desert PV solar project sites, without driving on public roads, supporting construction and installation of solar infrastructure.

You will perform pre-operational checks, load and move materials, assist in grading and foundation work, and ensure safety protocols; strong teamwork and ability to follow instructions required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience operating heavy civil and mechanical equipment in a construction or industrial environment.
• Demonstrated experience operating equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, compactors, forklifts, and/or rough terrain telehandlers.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Strong understanding of equipment operation safety procedures and best practices.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor as needed, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, bending, and stooping for extended periods in various weather conditions.
• Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends, as required by project schedules.
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy civil and mechanical equipment on solar project sites.
• Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment.
• Load, unload, and move materials within the project site.
• Assist in grading, leveling, and excavation for foundation work.
• Support the installation of solar racking systems and panel arrays.
• Adhere to all safety policies and site plans.
• Communicate progress and equipment status with supervisors and team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns promptly.
