Position Summary

Women Lead Change (WLC) is seeking a motivated and mission-driven Development Coordinator to lead fundraising and development efforts in the Des Moines region. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for corporate sponsors, local partners, and key stakeholders, working alongside a passionate team to deliver high-impact leadership programming.

Key Responsibilities

Sponsor & Fundraising Management

  • Cultivate, manage, and grow corporate sponsorships and community partnerships in the Des Moines region.
  • Achieve annual sponsorship goals in collaboration with the WLC Team.
  • Strategically identify and engage new funding opportunities and potential partners.

Program & Event Oversight

  • Collaborate with regional committees, staff, and volunteers to oversee Des Moines-based programming including events, workshops, Women Connect, and regional conferences.
  • Partner with the WLC team to plan and execute local events (luncheons, socials, workshops, etc.)

Community Engagement & Leadership

  • Serve as a visible and engaged WLC brand ambassador in the Des Moines area, alongside the WLC staff.
  • Act as the primary liaison to the regional committees, fostering strong relationships and ensuring meaningful involvement.
  • Identify and engage new volunteers and leaders to grow WLC’s impact in the community.

Team Culture & Operations

  • Promote a collaborative, innovative, and supportive team culture.
  • Comply with WLC policies and procedures and fulfill other responsibilities as assigned.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Proven success in fundraising, sales, corporate sponsorship, or business development roles.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills .
  • Familiarity with and passion for the Des Moines community .
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and self-management skills.
  • Strong understanding of WLC brand.
Additional Requirements
  • Must attend regional conferences and major WLC events (including setup and day-of participation at each regional conference).

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and the agreed-upon work schedule (part-time or full-time).

*Though the position is fully work from home, must live and be in the Des Moines, Iowa region for this position.
