Turner Construction Company seeks an Intern to work on a live construction project in Des Moines, IA, gaining hands-on experience in project management, safety, and field coordination. The role will involve supervised activities on-site, with opportunities to learn about cost control, scheduling, and quality assurance.

As an intern, you will assist with coordination, documentation, RFIs, and submittals, while learning from Project Engineers, Superintendents, and Managers.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college/university degree program or Co-op; minimum 1 year completed.
• Must be 18 years of age to work on site.
• Desire to work in construction management and learn about the industry.
• Ability to work standard business hours and overtime as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.
• Ability to read and comprehend written information.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support project team with coordination, documentation, and reporting.
• Assist with project start-up activities and support Project Engineer/Superintendent/Manager.
• Assist with submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
• Prepare estimates for changes in work from subcontractors.
• Attend site visits and communicate with architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Ensure safety protocols and PPE compliance.
