Job summary

Wabash Valley Power in Indianapolis is seeking an Operational Technology Systems Administrator to manage and support our DERMS platform and related OT systems. The role focuses on application administration, user management, configurations, and system health, with opportunities to grow into broader DER/utility integrations.

You'll work with SCADA/EMS/ADMS interfaces, ensure uptime, perform upgrades, and collaborate with field engineers, IT, and member cooperatives to strengthen grid reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, CS, IT, or equivalent.
• 2+ years in electric utility OT environment.
• Experience administering, configuring, or supporting SCADA, EMS, ADMS/DMS, OMS, distribution automation, or industrial control systems.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with ability to interpret docs, diagrams, and logs.
• Ability to learn new software applications and adapt to evolving configurations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with tech and non-tech personnel.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the DERMS application, including user accounts, permissions, DER asset configurations, telemetry points, alarms, dashboards, and system settings.
• Provide operational support for DERMS to ensure uptime, performance, and security; perform upgrades and patching.
• Support integration of DERMS with SCADA, ADMS, and other utility systems; monitor data flows and troubleshoot issues.
• Monitor system performance; investigate issues; maintain DER asset information and documentation.
• Assist with onboarding new distributed energy resources within DERMS.
• Maintain, produce, and enhance dashboards and reports for operators and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with System Operations, IT, vendors, and member cooperatives to improve DERMS functionality.
• Follow cybersecurity, access-control, and change-management procedures; support audits and recovery.
