Job summary

Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine seeks a Research Specialist to perform assays and experiments integral to current lab projects, applying laboratory knowledge to support ongoing research efforts.

You will plan and run experiments, interpret controls, train new staff, help develop methods and instruments, and contribute to figures, manuscripts, and grants. This is a full-time position on the School of Medicine Campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.
• One year of laboratory experience performing relevant techniques.
• Equivalency substitutions permitted by JHU policy.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run experiments after discussion within investigators.
• Train/orient learners and new staff in the laboratory.
• Develop new techniques and instruments.
• Process analyzed data into figures for scientific publications.
• May assist in protocol development and manuscript writing.
• Other duties as assigned.
