Job summary

Newnan Dermatology is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to manage patient billing processes end-to-end in a dermatology setting.

You will verify insurance, enter charges, submit claims, handle denials and appeals, and work closely with the Modernizing Medicine EHR system while upholding HIPAA confidentiality. Excellent communication and meticulous attention to detail are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical billing, preferably in a dermatology setting.
• Proficiency with Modernizing Medicine EHR.
• Excellent communication and customer service.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
• Understanding of Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills for complex billing issues.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of patient billing from insurance verification to charge entry, claim submission, and follow-ups.
• Handle patient inquiries related to billing with clear explanations.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies.
• Review and appeal unpaid and denied claims.
• Work closely with the Modernizing Medicine EHR system for claim processing and record keeping.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Collaborate with the clinical team and front office staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Stay updated with changing insurance rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Assist in other administrative tasks as needed.
