Job summary

The Dermatology Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support dermatology physicians by delivering high-quality patient care. You will room patients, document histories, assist with procedures, and help with medications and lab coordination in a fast-paced dermatology clinic.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of medical assistant experience (dermatology preferred), a valid MA credential, and strong attention to detail with excellent communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of medical assistant experience, preferably in dermatology.
• Medical Assistant Credentials/Certification required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate patient records.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Position requires travel to all other locations to support operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team to manage an average patient volume of up to 40 patients daily.
• Document patient histories including HPI, medical/surgical history, medications, and allergies.
• Prepare and assist with dermatological and cosmetic procedures (biopsies, I&D, excisions, Botox, laser treatments).
• Administer local anesthesia and remove sutures as directed.
• Ensure sterile techniques and infection control practices.
• Perform scribing and input templates/notes as directed.
• Process prescription refills and manage prior authorizations.
• Log pathology samples and coordinate with laboratories.
• Operate equipment such as Narrowband UVB and photodynamic therapy units.
• Maintain and replenish examination rooms and supply areas.
