Job summary

Schweiger is a leading dermatology practice actively seeking a Per Diem Medical Assistant for our Bay Shore Office. The role supports medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures with a focus on a professional, welcoming patient experience.

Open to new graduates with interest in healthcare and a flexible schedule. Availability is Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours 7:00am - 7:30pm.

Qualifications

Dermatology or healthcare experience preferred.
Experience with EMR and scheduling systems.
Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere for patients and providers.
Assist physician in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures.
Record prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions and prior authorizations.
Understand patient flow and anticipate next steps to support the provider.
Prep rooms, check equipment, and ensure readiness at shift start.
Provide pre-care and post-care instructions as needed.
Monitor supplies and alert leadership of low stock.
Attend in-house training and education opportunities.
