Schweiger Dermatology Group in Smithtown is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures within a dermatology setting. The role includes clinical and clerical tasks to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Open to candidates with healthcare interest; experience welcomed but not required. Schedule is full-time (30+ hours) with weekday shifts and rotating Saturdays; training and growth opportunities provided.

Qualifications

• Dermatology experience preferred or healthcare experience required.
• National certification as Medical Assistant preferred.
• Proficient with EMR systems and basic MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere for patients and providers.
• Assist physician in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures.
• Record treatments, medications, biopsies and procedures within guidelines.
• Understand patient flow and anticipate provider steps.
• Prep rooms and check equipment at shift start.
• Provide pre-care and post-care instructions as needed.
• Monitor inventory and stock supplies; alert when low.
• Attend in-house trainings and continued education opportunities.
