Job summary

Phynet Dermatology is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to support dermatology physicians in patient care. Duties include rooming patients, updating histories, documenting visit details, and assisting with biopsies, surgeries, and skin treatments.

The role requires 0-3 years of dermatology experience, attention to detail, and strong teamwork skills. Proficiency with MS Office and bilingual ability are preferred. Excellent infection control practices are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-3 years of medical assistant experience, preferably in dermatology.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate patient records.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team to manage up to 40 patients daily.
• Document patient histories (HPI, medical, surgical, family history, meds, allergies).
• Prepare and assist with dermatology procedures (biopsies, ED&Cs, ILK, I&D, Botox, laser, excisions).
• Administer local anesthesia and remove sutures as directed.
• Maintain sterile techniques and infection control practices.
• Perform scribing duties and input templates/notes as directed.
• Process prescription refills and manage prior authorizations.
• Log pathology samples and coordinate with labs.
• Operate equipment such as Narrowband UVB and photodynamic therapy units.
• Maintain and replenish liquid nitrogen containers.
• Stock exam rooms and supply areas.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and uphold attendance.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by physicians.
