Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support clinical and procedural patient care under supervision of providers and Practice Manager. The role involves entering patient data into EHR, coordinating exams, preparing patients, and assisting physicians during procedures.

The position requires prior medical office experience, Microsoft EMR familiarity (ModMed EMA), HIPAA knowledge, and a patient‑centric mindset. Competitive benefits and ongoing training provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in medical office.
• Ability to learn related center tasks and be of assistance to management and physicians.
• Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and customer service standards.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding (preferred).
• Familiarity with the ModMed EMA EMR (preferred).
• Thorough understanding of HIPAA law.
• Team player.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information by interviewing patient and recording medical history.
• Enter medical history and visit information into EHR.
• Escort patients to exam room.
• Prepare patient for exam by providing drapes and materials.
• Taking photographs.
• Assist physician during medical examinations and procedures.
• Phone in prescriptions to various pharmacies.
• Schedule medical procedures.
• Instruct patients on proper usage of medications.
• Perform and document nurse visit appointments including suture removals and injections.
• Maintain safe, secure and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
