Riva Dermatology in Cornelius, NC is seeking a Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our team. The role supports doctors, records vitals, assists with procedures, and helps manage patient flow in a fast-paced dermatology practice.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (MA certification preferred), dermatology terminology knowledge, strong communication, and experience with EHR systems. This full-time position emphasizes confidentiality, organization, and patient education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
• Prior experience as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
• Understanding of medical terminology, especially in dermatology.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with patients and staff.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and basic office applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by recording vital signs and medical histories.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare instruments, equipment, and procedure rooms.
• Conduct basic laboratory tests and handle specimens for analysis.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and office communications.
• Educate patients about treatments, medications, and appropriate skincare.
• Keep examination rooms clean, organized, and fully stocked.
