Job summary

Johns Hopkins University Dermatology is seeking Medical Assistants to join ambulatory clinics as integral members of the care team. You will provide direct patient care, assist with procedures, and help manage clinic operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and positive patient experience.

You will work under physician supervision, float between clinics as needed, and maintain certs including MA and CPR while supporting a high-quality dermatology service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Certified/registered Medical Assistant (CMA, AAMA, RMA, AMT, NAHP).
• If not certified, must become certified within 180 days of hire.
• Current CPR certification by AHA or Red Cross.
• Maintain MA and CPR certification during employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients to exam rooms.
• Screen patients prior to exam and document in EPIC.
• Prepare for patient procedures.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies.
• Monitor clinic flow and assist with room stocking.
• Operate medical equipment to monitor vital signs (ECG, etc.).
• Identify changes in patient status and notify clinician.
• Prioritize daily tasks and follow clinic policies.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
