Job summary

UNC Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center at Raleigh is hiring a Medical Assistant to support providers in a fast-paced dermatology clinic. You will assist with rooming, data collection, and patient care, ensuring accurate records and smooth visits.

This full‑time role follows a 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM schedule with occasional overtime and free parking. The clinic offers a clinical ladder with advancement to CMA IV and a Dermatology Tech class to promote growth.

Qualifications

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to engage positively with patients and families and work well in a team.
• Proficient in documenting information into the electronic medical record.

Responsibilities

• Performs rooming/intake: collects vitals and visit data.
• Collects patient/family data including medical and social history.
• Reviews medications and allergies; checks preferred pharmacy.
• Assists provider during treatments and procedures as directed.
• Collects specimens and performs phlebotomy.
• Administers medications under provider direction.
• Prepares and maintains exam/treatment rooms; sterilizes instruments.
• Answers clinic calls and assists with scheduling and referrals.
